Welcome to Gospel Centered Family

Welcome to gospelcenteredfamily.com. We are three guys—all dads and pastors—who work in ministry with kids, students, and their families.

The three of us first met in 2008 at a children’s ministry conference, and we soon became friends. Since that time, we’ve made excuses to get together, talk shop, and learn from one another as often as our schedules allow.

This blog is our joint venture. It’s your chance to listen in on what our conversations are like when we hang out together.  The focus of the blog is family discipleship. Our mission is to see the next generation transformed by the gospel. We believe the ideal place for that to happen is in families where parents teach the gospel to their kids. We will write here about parenting, family ministry, and leadership. If you are a mom, a dad, or teacher in youth or children’s ministry, pull up a chair. This blog is for you.

You can learn more about each of us on the “About” page. Also check out our recommended resources on the “Must Reads” page. We will be posting multiple times per week. To make sure you don’t miss our latest posts, subscribe via RSS or e-mail.

Our first month’s posts focus generally on what it means to have gospel-centered family discipleship:

  • Pat Aldridge will introduce you to our team and how we first met. And, in our second week, he gives us six questions that will help us stay centered on the gospel.
  • Jeff Hutchings has written a prayer for our blogging adventure, considers how it can be easy to get to ministry Promised Land without God, and gives you questions for discovering what you truly value.
  • I’ll be posting about how to craft and teach God- and gospel-centered lesson plans for children’s ministry. And throughout the month, I’ll be posting Jack Klumpenhower’s answers to several questions I’ve asked him about showing Jesus to children.

Also, don’t miss our weekend links feature that will be posting every Friday. Stay tuned. We think this is going to be fun, and we hope you do too.
